Hi, I'm Russell Lloyd.
I'm the founder of YourChild.org and YourChildCoach, a professional educational advocate, author, mentor, and the father of three children with special needs - two of whom are autistic.
Like so many parents, I didn't choose this journey. It chose me.
Over the years, I've sat in countless IEP meetings, fought for services, navigated insurance, searched for answers, and experienced the frustration of trying to figure out a system that often feels confusing and overwhelming. I've lived the late nights, the unanswered questions, the second-guessing, and the feeling that every decision matters because it does.
Those experiences changed my life.
Today, I help families across the United States navigate special education, disability services, evaluations, school meetings, and the many systems that affect their children's lives. My goal isn't simply to answer questions - it's to help parents feel confident, prepared, and supported every step of the way.
Before founding YourChild.org, I spent nearly three decades leading business operations for large organizations, specializing in solving complex problems, improving processes, and helping people move forward when systems weren't working. Those same skills now help me guide families through one of the most important challenges they'll ever face.
I created YourChildCoach because I kept thinking the same thing after working with families:
I wish this had existed when my children were younger.
Not every family needs full-service advocacy. Sometimes you just need someone to answer a question before you send an email. Sometimes you need another set of eyes on an evaluation. Sometimes you want to know what to say before an IEP meeting. And sometimes you simply need reassurance that you're on the right path.
That's why YourChildCoach exists.
I also know that not every family has the financial resources to hire a special education attorney or retain a professional advocate. Every day, parents are forced to navigate one of the most complex systems they'll ever encounter on their own - not because they want to, but because they simply can't afford the help they need. Too often, they feel overlooked, overwhelmed, and left without a place to turn.
That has never sat well with me.
